This Food Handlers training course is recognised under the Australian Quality Training Framework. Upon successful completion of the training course participants receive a Statement of Attainment for the unit - SITXOHS002A Follow Workplace Hygiene Procedures. Mandatory personal hygiene practices apply to all personnel operating at all levels within the food service industries. this includeds kitchen hands; cooks; chefs; catering staff; food and beverage attendants; housekeeping and laundry staff; sandwich hands; cafe and fast food staff; cooking crews; sales people and owner–operators of catering operations or retail food outlets.
Students wanting to undertake the Food Safety Supervisors course may complete all unit online or they can undertake one unit online and complete the other face-to-face.
NSW Food Safety Legislation & Regulations require every hospitality business in NSW to have a designated food safety supervisor responsible for implementing safe food handling in their premises. Training in this unit will improve skills across hospitality & food organisations. For those wanting to enter the hospitality & food industry completing this unit will improve their prospects.
This unit is also the pre-requisite unit for the Food Safety Supervisors course
This half day course deals with the skills and knowledge required to follow key food safety and hygiene procedures which apply in hospitality and tourism enterprises. To ensure understanding and compliance with their enterprises Food Safety procedures, all people, working with food in their workplace would benefit from completing this unit of competency.
1 form of Photo ID is required to be shown on the day of the training course.

- Proof of Age Card
Course Content:
The Food Handlers training course incorporates:
1) Follow hygiene procedures and identify hygiene hazards.
2) Report any personal health issues.
3) Prevent food and other item contamination.
4) Prevent cross contamination by washing hands.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course though participants must be able to speak, read and write in English.
Other Information
This course is for the front-line operational personnel who work under close supervision and guidance of others staff during the normal course of their daily activities.
